Custom Logo for Business Cards

Image
During this assignment, I was required to design a simple logo to represent myself based of an A.I. generated image on Adobe Firefly. This is the original image generated using the prompt "Create a logo that represents the work geek." As you can see, this image a solid basis on what I wanted to make, but it needed to be simplified significantly to work for universal uses. This is the simplified logo made to tailor to me specifically: This logo is much more simplistic, recognizable, and more easily represents who I am as a person. For the second part of the assignment, I was tasked to make black and white business cards using the logos we have created. This is the result of my experimentation: As you can see, I had to edit the logo slightly to make it stand out on the black background. However, both of these required delicate balance of details and simplicity that I think worked extremely well.

After learning the ins and outs of the pen tool and anchor point tool, I was assigned to do another recreation of a character of my choice. In this case, I chose a character from one of my favorite childhood shows, Phineas from Phineas and Ferb. Immediately, this image is much much cleaner and polished than my previous recreation of Drill-X. This is in no small part to my further understanding of the previously mentioned tools which made coloring and outlines super simple. Original Reference Image Recreation with Signature

Adobe Firefly A.I. Art Experimentation

Image
For the first assignment of FMX-210, I was required to experiment with Adobe Firefly, Adobe's A.I. art generating program for three pieces that will be showcased below.  I think it is important to understand that I am in the belief that A.I. art does have a purpose and a use, however I also believe that many major companies and independent parties have exploited these resources for the incorrect use. Using A.I. art as inspiration for an idea, layout, or specific visual details is great and can help artists create better artwork in the long term to preserve their work and value at major studios and companies. However, most uses of this technology has replaced the need for artistic integrity and craftmanship that only humans can provide. This is evident in projects like the Corridor Crew's A.I. anime, which is one of the best example of this type of misuse. Regardless, I feel it is important to experiment and use this technology to better understand how it works and how it can ...

Hello there, my name is Lucas Pacella. I'm 18 years old and am majoring in Animation with BFA at the University of Tampa. My pronouns are He/Him. My main passions are video games, card games, drawing, and other fun things. I love Magic the Gathering a little too much, and I'm a geek to an extreme degree. I'm taking FMX 210 because not only is it a pre-requisite course for the rest of my BFA, but also because it provides me more opportunities to learn something new.
